novoline

This is the mentality if you really mean to go through with the challenge. We do not see it in a normall day but we through away tons of food without caring much about it. I do not mean spill, I mean throw it down the drain because we bought too much and it has gone out of date.

If Human Resources weren's so full of people other than real born American's, there would be plenty of resources for food, shelter, and utility costs to people that are in need. The Spanish, Africans, Asians, etc., keep on having children, and expect the States to take care of them. We are living in America and our Government is great to help everyone in need, but let's face it. Those receiving help from Social Services, and Human Resources aren't receiving benefits now, like they did years ago. If you had a utility bill that had to be paid, MEAP, or other companies that help with utility payments, paid the whole bill. They don't do that anymore.

We are unemployed and my husband just started getting his early retirement benefit of 1500 a month. He has colon cancer and is getting chemo treatments right now. Now, we have to find insurance and will have to pay a lot out of pocket for co payments. He worked hard all his life, paid taxes, and should be able to live comfortably until his death. He paid off his house, but property taxes still have to be paid, as well as utilities. We don't have hot water or heat, and have suffered this for almost four years now. MEAP assistance only paid 120 out of a 600+ owed PEPCO bill. We have to pay the rest, or our electric bill will be cut off. Yet, a woman on the news, had a 9,000 electric bill, and MEAP paid 4,000 of the bill. Where is the justice and because she had five children, she was able to have MEAP pay a lot more for her bill. Where is the justice? She didn't put in 38+ years of hard work in her life, like my husband has.

We receive 367 a month for food stamps, when my husband didn't have any income, but now that he does, we are told that our amount for food benefits will drop to $16.00. How does one live on food that costs (for two) that much? We should atleast be entitled to get $200 a month? We could live with that with the food costs these days.

The individual that is getting $600 a month in food benefits, and others like him or her, because they have so many children, should be able to work for the kids that they bared. The government didn't ask for them to have so many. If you have children, you should be able to take care of them yourself. This individual's case should be reevaluated, and a cap on how much and how long one should receive food stamp benefits should be made. It costs the taxpayers a lot to feed, clothed, shelter, and educate other people's families, and it should not be that of the American way. Help us please.
